- Applicants must complete and submit
an Initial Proposal Summary by August 15, 2012.
- Applicants will be notified by September 15, 2012 if their Initial Proposal Summary has been accepted.
- Successful applicants will be invited to submit a complete grant request by October 15, 2012.
- Applicants submitting complete grant requests that do not meet the Foundation's current guidelines will be notified by November 30, 2012.
- Selected requests that meet the Foundation's guidelines will be scheduled for on-site visits by members of the Grants Committee between November 2012 and May 2013.
- Applicants MUST notify the Foundation if there are any changes to the grant request after the proposal is submitted and before a scheduled on-site visit.
- In determining the merits and priority of an application, particular consideration will be given to:
- The seriousness of the problem and adequacy of the proposed action;
- The degree to which the proposal enables individuals to help themselves;
- The capability of the organization and its personnel to achieve expected results; and
- The degree of potential benefit to the community.
- Priorities for funding will vary from time to time. Even though a project meets established criteria, it may not be selected for visitation because of limited funds or other reasons.
- The Foundation’s Grants Committee meets monthly from November through May to review proposals.
- If a grant is awarded, the recipients will be advised of the amount and complete terms of the grant after monthly Grants Committee meetings.
- Recipients are required to sign a Condition of Grant Award contract.
- Grant recipients are also required to complete a Grant Accountability Report detailing how the funds were used.
- When a grant is awarded covering less than the total cost of the requested capital item or project, Foundation funds will be released when all monies needed to purchase the item or complete the project are in hand.
- The Foundation's Grants Committee makes the final determination on all requests.
